Meet the Team

Dr. Niloo

Niloofar Mofakhami, DDS—known to her patients as Dr. Niloo—is proud to serve the community she grew up in. She attended Mosaic Elementary School, Luther Jackson Middle School, and Oakton High School. After graduating as valedictorian from OHS, Dr. Niloo attended the University of Virginia. She graduated from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry and completed her residency in pediatrics at the Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC. Her goal of becoming a pediatric dentist since the age of 10 was finally achieved!

Dr. Niloo has shown her passion about furthering herself as a dentist and giving back to her profession through the following:

  • Being a member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), American Board Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD), the College of Diplomates of the ABPD, and the Northern Virginia Dental Society, where she has served as a Delegate and a speaker
  • Becoming a Diplomate of the ABPD, which means she is a board-certified pediatric dentist, and later receiving a Fellow designation from the AAPD, signifying that she has gone above and beyond the normal standards of her profession
  • Serving as an ABPD board examiner, a lecturer at dental and medical meetings as well as to pediatric dental residents
  • Providing pro bono dental care through the Medical Care for Children Partnership Foundation
  • Founding Harmony Advising, a coaching and consulting business to help her colleagues achieve work-life balance.

Dr. Niloo lives in Oakton with her husband, her two sons, and her rescue dog. Her interests include hiking, yoga, reading, traveling (especially to different ballparks and national parks around the country), and cheering on her sons in their various activities. She is a member of the Young Men’s Service League, in which she participates in local community service projects alongside her son. She is fluent in English, Farsi, and French.

Dr. Nora

Originally from Egypt, Dr. Nora grew up in Tampa, Florida. Her family had a lot of unmet dental needs, and she saw how that visibly affected their everyday lives. After seeing that firsthand, she became interested in pursuing dentistry. Dr. Nora obtained her doctor of dental medicine degree at the University of Florida College of Dental Medicine. She then completed a general practice residency at Bronx Care Hospital, followed by a pediatric dental residency at Montefiore Hospital in Bronx, New York. She is also a board-certified pediatric dentist.

Dr. Nora has been practicing at Children’s Dentistry of Oakton since 2021. She understands that children’s early experiences at the dental office can shape their perception of oral health, impacting their dental care as an adult. She is committed to providing excellent care to all her patients and focuses on providing positive experiences. She is a member of the ADA, VDA, AAPD, ABPD, and the Virginia Pediatric Dental Society.

In her free time, Dr. Nora loves cooking, baking, and trying new restaurants. She and her husband are busy parents of two young kids.
