Preventative Care

Preventive care is the foundation of pediatric dentistry. By establishing a dental home by age one, a preventive program can place a child on the path to optimal oral health. Most children are seen every six months, but some children may be seen more frequently if a mouth or tooth injury is being monitored or they are at a high risk for getting cavities. Preventive care includes dental exams, professional cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants. Regular preventive care helps alleviate problems while they are small and before they become expensive or impossible to repair.
